Final Assignment- Educational Games

Introduction

The aim of the paper is to focus on reviewing an emerging technology that has the potential to support the distributed and open learning educational system. With the use of proper technologies and distributed courses it will become easy to enhance the educational system.  Distributed learning is referred to the multi-media method that helps in proper delivery of knowledge. The technology needs to be managed properly so that it can offer proper support towards the students. The educational video games are used within the educational field for the purpose of providing proper support towards the students.

About educational video games

Distributed learning is referred to the multimedia method that is used for the purpose of gaining knowledge. This includes a web based instruction, streaming video conferencing, distance learning and face-to-face classroom time learning. This is a combination of electronic and traditional educational system. On the other hand open learning helps in getting proper control over the learning media. The educational video game technology is one of the emerging technologies that are integrated within the educational sector for providing better services. Educational video games are used for the purpose of providing proper educational facility towards the children. Educational video games are used for providing training towards the primary school children (Wang et al., 2017). There is a huge need to have proper implementation of educational video games within the organization so that it becomes easy to provide knowledge towards the students. It can be stated that with the help of educational video games it becomes easy to provide information for proper learning. There are several reasons behind integrating educational video games within a school. This includes enhancing the problem solving capabilities among the students.   Educational video game sales in creating self-confidence among the children as this helps in creating proper cognitive skills within the students.

For the purpose of excelling in educational fields, it is very much essential to love the method of learning. It has been observed that, student tends to gain more scores when they love the way teaching is provided towards the students. Thus with proper implementation of educational video games it will become easy to learn things. This will provide proper support towards the distributed and open learning education. With the use of this technology it is expected that the overall performance of the students can be enhanced.

Literature review

Educational video games are introduced within the education system for the purpose of providing better interactive and cognitive way of learning towards the students. After evaluating the educational factors it can be stated that the impact of educational video game where is widely from children to children. Thus it is important for every parent and associate of the student to focus on how the technology is impacting the growth of the student. The educational video games are integrated with in distributed and open learning for the purpose of building a better future for the students. The major benefits that are offered with the use of educational video games are that it helps in increasing the child’s memory capacity and ensures that proper technology related knowledge has been obtained. In addition to these due to the interactive interface it becomes easy to gain better knowledge. The educational video games are designed in such a way that it can help in increasing the calculative mind of the students (Manero et al., 2015). This ensures that with proper knowledge and cognitive skills the students enhances their performance in the real life as well as in their studies. Besides this it has been observed that with the use of educational video games student tends to gain better simulation fluency among them.

It can be stated that with the efficient implementation of educational video games in school syllabus it becomes easy to reduce the overall burden on the teachers.  Children have the habit of learning new things with the help of proper learning medium (García-Redondo et al., 2017). There is several way of using distributed learning process as this offers huge features for providing educations. Educational game helps in enhancing the knowledge of the students. With the introduction of this technology it becomes easy to improve the problem-solving and strategic thinking among the students. It has been observed that maximum games required players or the user to utilize their strategic thinking for making a logical decision (Dedeaux & Hartsell, 2018). In certain games it also becomes very essential to have proper problem-solving capability so that they can make proper decision that will help in winning the game. Games are used for the purpose of attracting the students. Thus with the help of proper implementation of educational video games it will become easy to enhance the performance of the students. Hence it can be stated that with the use of effective technology, the learning process can be enhanced. The educational games are designed for the purpose of attracting the students. With proper evaluation it will become easy to have better knowledge.

Apart from this there are several situations where the children tend to get distracted from little things at the time of learning. This hampers the knowledge and learning method. Thus it is important for the teachers as well as for the parents to enhance their learning capabilities with the help of proper attention management (Chang et al., 2016). With the use of educational video games it can be stated that the attention of the students can be increased. While playing a game children tends to stay more focused and concentrated as compared to other way of learning. Thus it is stated that the use of efficient technology it becomes easy to provide proper support towards the distributed and open learning medium.

However there are certain drawbacks that can hamper education of the children. Thus it is important for parents and for the teachers to focus on the way video games are integrated within the education system. The limitation that arises with the use of educational video games includes the impact on student’s performance. There is a need to have proper control over the children activities. Beside this there is also a chance of increase in aggression and depression among the students due to less interaction in real life. The excessive use of technology can hamper the performance. Thus there is a need to have proper control over the activities. Apart from this, the health condition is one of the most important factors (Sánchez-Mena & Martí-Parreño, 2017). It has been observed that excessive use of technology can impact the mental and physical health of the students. Hence it can be stated that before implementing a technology it becomes essential to measure all the factors efficiently so that it can offer effective benefit towards the students.

Reason behind integrating Educational video games

Forth reflection

Identify three concepts, ideas, or issues you think are the most important and explain why?

The three main important components are communication framework, motivation and disabilities. However in communication framework the process is to publish some essential components of publicity and accessible language (Scott & Bruno, 2018). Thus in the module some of the pivotal ideas comprise of three dimensions of inclusive design framework in public blogs. Hence it can be analyzed that there are ways to encapsulate the essential ideas on social media like Instagram and Twitter. However these public figures of emergent ideas have catered us in assisting the gauge of ideas to resonate and understand by the inclusive design community.

On the other hand in case of motivation it can be observed from the weekly reading that the system of research, market, mechanism and education are of value exchange and are structured on the basis of delivery and complexity (Al-Azawei Serenelli & Lundqvis, 2016). This however results in vicious cycle of disparity for the people who does not respond to the average or majority d also results in harmful blinds spots as we are navigated in the increasing unpredictable or majority. With the emergence of the existing structures which can be triggered is ascendant of emerging technologies, the responsibility comes of the field to design heighted role to play in the pervasive pattern.

Lastly the concept of prescriptive technology is the last concept which tends to be most important because this concept caters to encapsulate the unease with the modern techno-deterministic narratives.

Identify two concepts, issues, or ideas you are having difficulty understanding

The three areas where I am facing difficulty to understand are firstly the challenges to inclusive design in higher education because the design ends with too many impacts and lessons from the formal education. It creates a challenge for the century old traditions, assumptions and implicit conventions. There are reasons of high power hierarchy which creates an inclusive in higher learning and makes it reflexive (Thomas et al., 2015). On the other hand the second challenge which I am facing to understand is the concept of imaginaries. When the trump administration gained its office was actually dismayed by the regression in education policy and the apparent polarity in view to education. Lastly, the concept of three dimensional applied of learning was also difficult to understand. However this module had aimed to engage a number of things like advisory meetings, colloquia, consultants and many more regarding their future employment. This made me worried that the students are not prepared and will be unemployed in future (Rao, 2015). On the other hand it can also be said that we have demoted many attributes of many aspects of education that can create value in future. This study takes into account the complex adaptive system which is evolving in the society.

Pose one question in relation to universal design that was not addressed in this module.

That one question which was not mentioned in the module is regarding the basic seven principles of the universal design.

third reflection

Introduction

Technology has brought about a lot of significant changes in the human society. One of the fields which has undergone a rapid change is that of education. Education involve the flow of information and knowledge from the teachers to the students in an oral manner (Harasim, 2017). The purpose of this paper is to understand the changed face of education and how the aspect of technology has helped the students to become more effective in imbibing the knowledge shared.

Discussion

With the advent of technology in the twenty first century, many online learning courses have been introduced (Bates, 2020). The purpose of such courses is to provide more knowledge and information to the students, during the time when they do not have access to a physical teacher.

One of the platforms from where knowledge can be gained is that of Twitter. The field of social media platform has gained considerable significance in the globalized world of today. Twitter has emerged to be one of the dominating platform in social media. It provides information to its users about the occurrences in the globe. The real time feed to the individuals acts as a bonus. This has helped me significantly to be aware about the worldly occurrences and substantiate them with the knowledge which I have acquired from the formal textbooks (Crosslin & al., 2020). In this context, it needs to be noted that unless the theories are complemented with practical knowledge, the learning of the students is not complete.

This aspect of learning can be correlated with the use of videos. The audio visual aids enable the students to see in front of them the knowledge which is to be learnt (Stephenson, 2018). The use of videos is encouraged in the field of education as it helps the children to memorize the subjects in a faster and efficient manner.

Another field which has gained wide spread significance is that of open educational research (Harasim, 2017). Many individuals of the society are unable to pay for their formal education such as me. In this regard, the governments of various countries and several non-governmental organizations have come forward to ensure the flow of knowledge to every individual of the society. The open educational services has helped me and other students of the community to find the material from where we can acquire knowledge (Harasim, 2017).

This can be correlated with the aspect of humanization of online learning. The entire endeavour of the society to provide the relevant materials to the needy people of the community is an act of welfare and therefore, stems from humanity (Stephenson, 2018). It would contribute to the growth and development of the human community as a whole and as individual members of the society.

Conclusion

In conclusion, it can be observed that the field of technology has been able to revolutionize the sphere of education. Nowadays, the student community have a lot of various sources from where they can obtain knowledge. Thus, they are not confined only to books and articles.

second reflection

The difference between the online educational content and openly licensed educational content are:

OER or the open educational resources are the ones where the information is free and the users do not really need any kinds of permission to view the information. On the other hand the online educational content is the one that is often available in a certain amount (Tian, 2016). In other words the information is always not available in a proper amount and the users may not have the permission to view the entire information (oerafrica.org. 2020). There is also a chance that the information that is available in the OER is authentic than in comparison to the ones that are found in the other online educational content.

OER Africa is one of the useful tutorials that have actually helped in understanding about the step by step process that will be helping in understanding about the right ways of using the information that is available. The evaluation process is as follows-

Relevance

There is enough relevance because they try to fulfill the objective like to bridge the gap between different countries and colleges.

Accuracy

The information available is accurate and also there is no spelling errors or any errors in grammar. The information taught is about many authentic aspects like educational technology, Indigenization and also many other such useful aspects

Production quality

The design of the site is done in proper manner and also it enhances the overall look of the site and students will be getting attracted towards studying the content from this site (bccampus.ca. 2020).

The audio have been developed in a proper way and the students will be getting attracted to the same.

 Accessibility

This is accessible as the students can easily read the content from the website and the content is written in the form of document (.doc).

Interactivity

The content encourages active learning and also students will be encouraged as they will be able to appear for the assignments and the questions.

Licensing

The information available is totally reusable as the students can use the same for writing their assignments several times. Active learning is encouraged because students can also carry on a proper group study (Gough, Giffen & Woodward, 2018).

I will be using this in a step by step process in my future life. I feel that this will surely be of a great help in my professional work. This is because I will be able to use a step by step method in order to understand the ways in which I will be able to use the information from the OER and then be able to make sure that this is being incorporated in my own researches and also in all the professional works that I am undertaking. I will also be able to make sure that I am not making use of any unauthentic or wrong information in my work. It is for this reason that I will always make use of the open and freely available   information that I will be getting from using the open educational resources.
